Grand opening of the first
WMF-approved minigolf course in Turkey
To some was Friday
13th in March 2009 an especially lucky day. For instance to Mr. Erdogan
Kök, the Turkish WMF registrar, because his Tuna Minigolf Sport Club's own
minigolf course was officially opened in Bursa. The course was built and
approved in December 2008, and alongside the miniaturegolf course there is a
restaurant with 150 indoor seats as well as 250 outdoor seats for the summer
season, which is in Turkey a bit longer than the one many of us minigolfers get
to enjoy of.

The VIP among the roughly 150 guests
was the mayor of the Bursa city district of Nilüfer, Mr. Mustafa Bozbey.
Mr. Bozbey's input was decisive for the project and he received many warm,
deserved thanks for his assistance and emphasis from Mr. Kök and his team.
After the official opening the mayor and other guests got a chance to test not
only the delicacies of the restaurant but also the lanes of this international
minigolf course.

The invited guests and later other
visitors showed great interest. Also several schools and other institutes have
already shown interest in organizing events on the course. The media has
visited the course actively, one TV station and approx. ten newspapers were
also present at the opening. The club has set targets for finding as soon as
possible players, who will participate in the international championships of
WMF. We wish Mr. Kök and his team the best of luck with his course and
club!
